Series One: Sale Info

English Retro Dot Cards fanning out and coming out of an open pack

Launch Time

Series One will go on sale July 27th, at 10 AM Eastern time. Other time zones:
  • 10 AM Eastern (Detroit)
  • 7 AM Pacific (San Francisco)
  • 4 PM Central Europe (Berlin)
  • 11 PM (Tokyo)

Launch Location

The cards will be for sale at store.retrodotcards.com. The store is up and running right now, feel free to browse. Purchasing won't be turned on until launch time.

Regions

The cards will be available in three regions.

It is important to buy the region that matches your E-Reader!
  • US: English text on the cards and in the games, only run on a USA E-Reader.
  • Japan: Japanese text on the cards and in the games, only run on a Japan E-Reader+.
  • "English on Japanese": English text on the cards and in the games, only run on a Japan E-Reader+.
More info on the different E-Reader types and regions can be found here. More info on "English on Japanese" cards can be found here.

Quantities and limits

So far Series One is a small print run:
  • US card packs: 700
  • Japan card packs: 300
  • "English on Japanese" card packs: 200
  • Limited full sheets: 98

There will be no limit to how many you can purchase. Will they sell out? Will I be stuck with card packs coming out of my ears? I have no idea!

If the card packs do sell out I will make more! A restock of more packs will take about 4-6 weeks, then be up for sale again in the store. As long as there is interest, I will keep making them. And maybe there will be no interest, who knows?

Exo Attack has a tiny little easter egg in it. Each reprint will probably get a slightly different easter egg. But I haven't fully committed to that yet.

The full sheets will not be reprinted if they sell out.

Entire set in each pack

Each pack contains all of the games for Series One. These are not like regular "booster" packs where you have to buy a bunch to try and collect the entire set.

The US Series One has 5 games, and the Japanese Series One has 4. Franny Answers is only in the US set.

Details on the games can be found here.

Card size

In the past I have stated the cards will be the same size as Nintendo E-Reader cards. Due to manufacturing limitations, they ended up being just a teeny tiny bit bigger.

The cards in Series One are sized the same as American playing cards, 3.5 by 2.5 inches. This is a tiny sliver larger than Nintendo E-Reader cards which are the size of metric playing cards, 88 by 63 millimeters.

The difference is extremely small (less than one millimeter). RetroDotCards still fit in sleeves, pages, hard cases, everything.

Reminders

I will send out reminders:
  • 5 days before launch (July 22)
  • The day before launch (July 26)
Reminders will be posted on Bluesky and on the Retro Dot Cards mailing list. You can join the mailing list here:
